Covid has been both good and bad for a lot of people, and the positive habit that it brought on me was exercising. It has been 2 years now, since i have been on a continuous fitness journey.

The one thing that all trainers talk about when you exercise is having a strong core. This core not only makes you stay strong, but also is responsible for your day to day activities.

What is the core?

In fitness core is the sturdy central link connecting your upper and lower body. No matter which apart of your body the motion starts, it ripples both upward and downward to the entire body through links of the chain.

A weak or inflexible core muscle can impair the functioning of your arms and legs. A strong core muscles builds up the power and enhances your balance and stability, preventing falls and injuries.

Life’s Core

Just like it is important to keep you core strong when you are working out or doing any physical activity, it is important to also work on your core for a happy and peaceful life. This core is your brain that manages each movement of your Body, every emotion you experience, all the feelings you have during the day.

It is important to keep this core at ease and work towards making it stronger.

How to strengthen Your core?

a. Meditation: An age old trick that has been used for generations by humans, meditation calms down your mind chatter and makes you more centered. As a child i never understood why meditation was important, and always thought meditation meant being thoughtless.

As I grew up and began to read more, I realised that mediattaion is accepting your thoughts and making peacefully thinking about them. You can either take guided meditation, or mediatae in silence. I prefer music meditation.

b. Exercising: Exercise is not just a tool, but a lifestyle which helps you stay more focussed and calm. I do not mean that you should spend 2–3 hours running and exercising, but even 15 mins of yoga, running, cycling and strength training can create a difference.

Today there are so many online fitness platforms that help you exercise with the trainers. I started my journey with Cultfit, dance fitness.

c. Solitude: People often tag me as a loner because I like to spend time alone. I have always believed that half my problems are solved in solitude. If I have a fight with someone, or having some trouble at work, not sure about what i should do, or when i start doubting myself, all i need is some alone.

I sit, think, write and I have the answer to all my questions before I come back to the world.

d. Talking: Too much talking can be bad, but often talking to someone else help you resolve some personal worries. It is important to get someone else’s opinion on facts to ensure that you are making the right decision.

But make sure that this opinion is from someone who truly understands you and one you can trust completely.

e. Learning: Learning is a good exercise for the brain, it helps challenge your brain and ensures that it is fully functional. No matter what your age always believe i the power of learning.

f. Reading: The reading of all good books is like a conversation with the finest minds of past centuries. By reading you expose your mind to thoughts and learnigns that were otherwise impossible for you. You open new horizons to your life and discover personality traits within you, that you were unaware of

Conclusion

Core muscles that are weak, tight, or imbalanced might cause problems in any of these areas. While it’s necessary to create a strong core, focusing all of your efforts on building rippling abs isn’t a good idea. Overtraining abdominal muscles while neglecting back and hip muscles can lead to injuries and a reduction in athletic ability.

So make sure to work on overall core and stay strong forever.
