How often do you sit in silence and talk to yourself?

Well, some may find it weird and crazy to talk to themselves, it is necessary to understand the language of silence.

Right from the time we wake up in the morning, to the time we go back to sleep, there is some kind of noise that surrounds us. Whether it is the morning alarm, the coffee machine, the noisy neighbors, or the endless office calls. Sound is all around us.

Late at night when there is utmost silence, it is then that you realise how much noise we live in.

Learn about the Sound of Silence.

Why silence is necessary?

More individuals are discovering the benefits and power of silence in an increasingly noisy and stressed environment. Quiet breaks during the day can help us connect, relax, and reconnect with ourselves. Experts agree that we must make the decision to include silence in our life. Perhaps it’s by remembering a loved one, waking up before the sun rises, or substituting a calming break for a noisy time of day.

Give yourself a break

It might be exhausting to be bombarded with too much excitement and noise without a pause. Make the decision to put your phone down and think about how you’ll use the silence. It’s difficult to carve out time for silence. For our mental health, we need to schedule quiet time. Allow your mind to slow down in the silence. It’s not helpful and will make matters worse if you use the quiet time to worry and ruminate, which is what the monkey brain is programmed to do when we’re not engaged in a task. Choose something positive to focus your attention on and break the cycle of negativity.

Why silence is important?

a. It helps us live consciously
b. Makes us more mindful and self-compassionate
c. Tool for increased emotional regulation.

“Silence is a source of enormous strength,” Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu famously stated. Taking the time to listen to yourself gives the message that you are valuable. Regularly practising quiet will help you honour your life.
